As we continue to distribute funds to good causes throughout Bury, this month we visited Friends of Bury Young Carers and donated £500 to their fantastic charity. Bury Young Carers was nominated by one of our door to door lottery collecting agents and you too as a member of our weekly draw are eligible to nominate a charity or good cause close to your heart.
Jane & Hannah from Friends of Bury Young Carers will use this donation to engage with young carers throughout Bury and provide educational and health resources. Our Business Development manager Tom met with the ladies to present them with the cheque for £500 and said “it’s a pleasure meeting community heroes like Jane and Hannah making a real difference to the lives of hundreds of young people across Bury. The donation we made is just a small token of our appreciation for the work they do for our community”.
Jane said “I would like to thank Bury Treasureline for this wonderful donation, this is an immense gift to us which will help us do activities and do interventions with young carers over the Christmas period, which is a period we are really worried about. If you are a young carer yourself or know of a young carer, please contact Bury Young Carers and somebody will be in touch with you, a young carer can be any age caring for a parent or sibling.”
