JOB DESCRIPTION: Communications Manager
Job Title:  Communications ManagerLocation: Bury head office, BL9Line management: Direct to the board


PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To be the day to day lead on all aspects of the organisation’s communications related activities. Focus is on growing the membership of the NYCDA Weekly Draw and raising more funds for its beneficiaries. This will include liaising with the board, staff and partners on a range of issues. In addition, the post holder will be on hand to support the board in ensuring the company meets the relevant compliance and governance related standards
PRINCIPAL DUTIES / ACTIVITIES:
Lead on all out going communications of the organisation, including but not limited to websites, social media platforms, promotional graphics and other such resources 
Lead on the liaison with beneficiary partners and their members on a day to day basis, ensuring the highest levels of professionalism at all times.
Lead on the maintenance, development and growth of our organisation’s database using Mailchimp and other database utilisation tools.
Be the companies first point of contact for all communications related queries to the office, ensuring the highest levels of professionalism at all times.
Liaise with the organisations Business Development Manager and Admin team to ensure a quality experience for members, beneficiaries and other stakeholders alike.
Help the board prepare, complete and submit reports and key performance indicators to partners and regulatory bodies as and when required.
Occasionally work additional, potentially unsociable hours to include events at evenings and weekends. Full recompense of the hours given will be returned to the post holder as and when these opportunities arise
Take a full part in the company’s staff training and performance review programmes. These will include attending staff meetings and participating on all relevant training e.g. safeguarding, data protection, lottery compliance

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE 
Experience in a communications related roleFull clean, current DBS in place.Experience of PR/media/marketing related work to raise the brand of the organisation and generate sales growthExperience in graphic design e.g. social media graphics, e-newslettersExperience with the growth of social media channels Experience of applying skills set to assist in achieving sales growth Experience with the development and growth of CRM systems e.g. Mailchimp, Microsoft DynamicsAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with organisations and/or individuals Ability to prioritise work effectively in order to achieve short, medium and long term objectives
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge and experience of community development and the structures surrounding it in particular local health and social inclusion agendas Experience of staff development and recruitment Experience of partnership work with local stakeholders of varying sizes
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
A full, valid driving licence and access to a car is essential. Evidence of taking further personal development opportunitiesComputer literate – exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite Comprehensive knowledge of publication systems such as Adobe design suite and Canva

LINE MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION OF THE POST
